Clinic policies
How consultations, age limits, patch tests and appointments work at our clinic.
Consultations
Every treatment starts with a consultation. Your consultation is free and takes about 20 minutes.
We’ll ask what you’d like to change, take a full medical history, look closely at your skin and explain the options that may suit you, including their risks, recovery and price.
If a treatment isn’t right for you, we’ll tell you. We may suggest you see your GP first, for example if a skin concern needs a medical diagnosis.
Adults only
We treat adults aged 18 and over only. This applies to every treatment we offer.
In England, it’s against the law to give some cosmetic injections to anyone under 18.
We may ask for photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence, before your treatment.
Your health and consent
Before any treatment, we take a full medical history and ask for your consent. Please tell us about any changes to your health or medicines, or if you become pregnant, before each appointment.
We may postpone or decline a treatment if it isn’t suitable for you, for example:
- during pregnancy or while breastfeeding
- if you have a skin infection or cold sore in the area
- if a medicine you take could affect the treatment or your healing
Patch tests
Some treatments need a patch test before your first session, to check how your skin responds. We’ll tell you at your consultation if yours does, and how long before your treatment to have it.
Appointments and cancellations
To book, change or cancel an appointment, message us on WhatsApp (opens WhatsApp) or call 07532 895989. If you need to cancel or change an appointment, please let us know as early as you can.
When you book, we’ll tell you about deposits, how much notice we need to change or cancel, and what happens if you arrive late.
Aftercare
You’ll get aftercare advice for your treatment. If you have a question afterwards, or anything about your skin worries you, message us on WhatsApp or call straight away.
If you have severe symptoms, such as difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, lips or throat, or a sudden change in your vision, call 999 or go to A&E. When we’re closed, you can call NHS 111 for urgent medical advice.
Feedback and complaints
If you’re unhappy with any part of your care, please tell us, so we can try to put it right. Message us on WhatsApp, call 07532 895989 or email info@emelbeautyclinic.co.uk.
We’ll look into what happened and come back to you personally.
